Music
The songs in this series of songbooks were all inspired by experiences in my life. They are told in photographs, drawings, music and lyrics. I have tried to combine bits of history with modern day events in the attempt to show patterns of human behavior that seem to be unchanging down through the years. Some of the songs were from my musical plays, “Magic Man” and Boomtown U.S.A.” Both of these musical stage plays won awards in the New York Screenwriting Contest in 2018 & 2019 in the stage play category – first place for Boomtown U.S.A. and third place for Magic Man.

The Mind that was born was so mighty that none can ever communicate with it. One second of a sound of it would explode planet earth. At the same time, that mind was very pure, so happy and joyous, so clean and exquisitely naïve. It was filled with wonderment at what was happening and these feelings were therefore embedded in each galaxy, solar system, planet and yes even humans. When humans are first born they are, believe it or not, filled with these feelings.
Musical Plays
Magic Man – Hara, engaged to Minta, meets Lisan, with whom he has had several previous lives. Can he break the bond of previous lifetimes and move on? Who does he marry in the Valentine’s Day 2300 wedding? A musical play with futuristic dress, flashbacks to 1990’s and a robot. There is a piano/vocal score available.
Boomtown U S A – A rich Texan wants to buy a Colorado ranch for oil shale development. The woman who owns it has a niece who doesn’t want her to sell it. Who wins out – the Texan or the niece? Who celebrates the most at the New Year’s Eve party? Country/Western feel to music – piano/vocal score available.
Magic Man Script and Lyrics: A Musical Stage Play Paperback Edition

This is the Script and Lyric sheets for Magic Man. This futuristic musical takes place in the year 2099 in a town called Grand Beach, Colorado. An engaged couple enter college and the guy meets another girl that he feels a very strong attraction for. It turns out that they were together in a previous life, but realize that they are not meant to be together in this life. The guy returns to his girlfriend and all is well. The show ends with their wedding in a fruit and vegetable barn followed by a large reception with everyone having fun. The delightful music was composed by Norma.
